A tribute to Condoleeza Rice and George W. Bush who, despite voluminious evidence to the contrary, said, "I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon, that they would try to use an airplane as a missile," adding that "even in retrospect" there was "nothing" to suggest that" and "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees," respectively.

WHY ONLY BAD NEWS?
Why is it that we only get the bad news from Mt. Hood? Why not report the good news that the Timberline Lodge is doing a brisk business? Or why not report that the weather cleared and thousands of skiing enthusiasts were enjoying the slopes? Yet, the media, with their thinly veiled bias and ulterior motives, only reports on discovery of the body of one of the unfortunate hikers and the presumed deaths of two more. To paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld, "When flying over Mt. Hood, it's not as though the terrain is littered with the bodies of ill-equipped hikers."

Rummy's Worst Day: Who Would of Thought It Would Not Be 9/11/2001?
When asked about his best day and his worst day in office
"Clearly, the worst day was Abu Ghraib, seeing what went on there and feeling so deeply sorry that that happened,"
Rummy felt so badly about seeing the abuses at Abu Ghraib that his first official response was to make sure he and the American people would not see any more disturbing pictures and videos of abuses and crimes by prohibiting the use or possession of cameras which might be used to create a visual record of them.
Common Dreams
I thought his worst day might have been the day 19 fanatics hijacked 4 planes, slammed two of them into two World Trade Center buildings somehow causing 3 of them to collapse. Of course, this event was seen as an opportunity to get the war they wanted, so for him, maybe it wasn't such a bad day after all.
Kind of reminds of the response his boss gave to a question at the end of 2001. "All in all, it's been a pretty good year for Laura and me." If you don't count finding out that the oceans no longer protected us that is.

Between the four women who wore the same designer dress, they spent $34,000. But of course mentioning the gap between the well-to-do and the working men and women of this country is not to be tolerated. By the well-to-do that is.

Like peer-reviewed scientific studies which come to conclusions which do not coincide with those held by the adminstration, the ISG report will be spun, discounted and ignored.

IMPEACH THE CHEERLEADER, SAVE THE WORLD!
Looking for a few "Heroes" in the House of Representatives who won't let crimes go unprosecuted.
Real Fake News
Not to be confused with Fox News' fake news, the Onion and Ironic Times are the forebearers to The Daily Show and the Colbert Report which feature some very creative minds lampooning just about anybody or anything. Today's Ironic Times had one that made me laugh out loud such that I thought it worthy of repetition here:
Bush Wants $500 Million to
Build His Legacy Library
In the form of gigantic pit.
