A tribute to Condoleeza Rice and George W. Bush who, despite voluminious evidence to the contrary, said, "I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon, that they would try to use an airplane as a missile," adding that "even in retrospect" there was "nothing" to suggest that" and "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees," respectively.

Senator John Cornyn (R-Moron): Apparently, the hypocrisy escapes him.

"I do think that there are those who have already decided to vote against your nomination and are looking for some reason to do so," said Sen. John Cornyn (news, bio, voting record), R-Texas. "And I think one of the reasons that they may claim is that you've been nonresponsive." Cornyn said he saw nothing to derail Alito's confirmation.

I guess it's okay to already have decided to vote for Alito, but not okay to have already decided to vote against his confirmation.

What a clown!
