A tribute to Condoleeza Rice and George W. Bush who, despite voluminious evidence to the contrary, said, "I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon, that they would try to use an airplane as a missile," adding that "even in retrospect" there was "nothing" to suggest that" and "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees," respectively.

Has This Guy Been Cleared of Double-Dealing With Iran?

Chalabi Named as Iraq Oil Minister: Continuing the Bush policy of rewarding failure. If your lies costs thousands of lives and billions of dollars, you must be a Bush kindred spirit.

How Ahmed Chalabi Conned the Neocons

The hawks who launched the Iraq war believed the deal-making exile when he promised to build a secular democracy with close ties to Israel. Now the Israel deal is dead, he's cozying up to Iran -- and his patrons look like they're on the way out.

A Salon exclusive.

When the definitive history of the current Iraq war is finally written, wealthy exile Ahmed Chalabi will be among those judged most responsible for the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq and topple Saddam Hussein. More than a decade ago Chalabi teamed up with American neoconservatives to sell the war as the cornerstone of an energetic new policy to bring democracy to the Middle East -- and after 9/11, as the crucial antidote to global terrorism. It was Chalabi who provided crucial intelligence on Iraqi weaponry to justify the invasion, almost all of which turned out to be false, and laid out a rosy scenario about the country's readiness for an American strike against Saddam that led the nation's leaders to predict -- and apparently even believe -- that they would be greeted as liberators. Chalabi also promised his neoconservative patrons that as leader of Iraq he would make peace with Israel, an issue of vital importance to them. A year ago, Chalabi was riding high, after Saddam Hussein fell with even less trouble than expected.

Where is the Mainstream Media?

If this scandal happened when Clinton was President, we never would have known Pope John Paul died. The mainstream media has chosen to ignore this story and one must assume they are following orders because of the comedic grist present.

Please Keep Your Religion Out of My Government!

Some might even say it's thinly veiled bribery for votes.

Bush Finally Unveils Specific Plan for Social Security Reform

If this man is a Christian, I am a Chippendale dancer.

And they still don't have the proper equipment.

Greed Oil Propaganda

MOST CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION EVER!

TIME reports that political views will keep you out of non-political events because of the un-American activities of the Bush Administration. At least he didn't fire the members of the White House Travel Office.

Any Kerry Supporters On The Line?

The Bush Administration punishes some Democrat backers
By VIVECA NOVAK AND JOHN DICKERSON

[The Inter-American Telecommunication Commission meets three times a year in various cities across the Americas to discuss such dry but important issues as telecommunications standards and spectrum regulations. But for this week's meeting in Guatemala City, politics has barged onto the agenda. At least four of the two dozen or so U.S. delegates selected for the meeting, sources tell TIME, have been bumped by the White House because they supported John Kerry's 2004 campaign.]

This is absolutely a disgusting display of partisanship and punishing people for their political views that don't happen to coincide with their fascist agenda.

Fidel Castro would be so proud.

As if by rote, GWB uses the phrase "I'm looking for to working with..." in numerous speeches and in numerous responses to questions about individuals and groups. BTW, rote can be defined as: 1) the use of memory usually with little intelligence or 2)routine or repetition carried out mechanically or unthinkingly.

Nobody Could Have Predicted...

that the much heralded victory in Afghanistan would in reality be yet another GWB dismal failure!

Truce Sought with Taliban

I know everything changed on 9/11, but I didn't expect that we'd have to negotiate a "truce" with the enemy that purportedly had been vanquished.

Just Another Coincidence

The 60 Minutes 2 which was supposed to air on 04/13 dealing with the claim by Giuliana Sgrena, the Italian journalist, that she had been purposefully targeted was preempted locally by a Billy Graham Hour. I'm sure this it's just a coincidence that the local CBS station is part of Sinclair Broadcasting.

Under the Bus: Letterman Tells Tom DeLay Joke

Last night, David Letterman told a joke about Tom DeLay. This can only signal that the Bush Administration has decided to let DeLay be thrown under the bus. If you'll remember, there was a late-night comedy blackout about Jeff Gannon despite the obvious comic potential. I don't want to go all "tin-foil hat" here, but the comedians must have been under orders not to do the obvious jokes. Now, they have permission to hammer the "hammer."

Trent Lott: 180 Degrees Separated from the Truth

"That's the problem, you know, Republicans eat their own. ... Democrats stand by their own until hell freezes over," said Lott, who was ousted as Senate majority leader two years ago after making controversial race-based comments at a birthday party for the late Strom Thurmond.

As the scandal mounts and the rats flee the ship, it's nice to know that there are some who still stand behind you.

Nobody Could Have Predicted

...that right-wing hacks, Brit Hume and Bill Kristol, would shamelessly defend the ever corrupt Tom DeLay or that Chris Wallace would continually interrupt Senator Shumer while letting Senator Cornyn lie in his face. Such is the story of Fox News Sunday.

...that as the light is directed at the cockroach DeLay bringing into focus his corruption and contempt for the Constitution, those who are standng behind him may be planning to throw him under the bus.

Remember how much shit Clinton took for the mistaken bombing of the Chinese Embassy which actually was the result of an intelligence failure?

Bush: U.S. had 'darn good intelligence' on Iraq

'When I gave the speech, the line was relevant'
(referring to the "uranium from Africa" lie)

From Dana BashCNN
Washington Bureau
Tuesday, July 15, 2003

"I think the intelligence I get is darn good intelligence, and the speeches I have given were backed by good intelligence," Bush said. "And I am absolutely confident today, like I was when I gave the speeches, that Saddam Hussein developed a program of weapons of mass destruction."

Republican Senators Are Liars!!!

THEY'VE BEEN CAUGHT IN A BIG LIE AND TRIED TO COVER IT UP!

Watch the weasels squirm. Try to predict how Rush will twist the facts so he won't have to admit that he's a tool. Is there an ounce of integrity left in the leadership of the Republican party?

SEE: www.americablog.blogspot.com

Have some more cool-aid America!

All 55 Republican senators say they have never seen the Terri Schiavo political talking-points memo that Democrats say was circulated among Republicans during the floor debate over whether the federal government should intervene to prolong her life.

Now that Mel Martinez’s (R-Fla) office has admitted than one of their staffers created the memo, what do you suppose the chances are that one or more of the 55 Republican Senators is a lying d-bag?

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20050406-124141-1831r.htm

Sen. Mel Martinez said tonight that he passed the anonymous political talking-points memo on the Terri Schiavo situation to Sen. Tom Harkin, doing so after Mr. Harkin had told reporters earlier in the day that his Florida colleague was the source of the memo.

Mr. Martinez, a Republican, said that unbeknownst to him, one of his staffers had produced the memo and it came into his possession. He said the staff member, whom he did not name, has resigned.

He said though, in response to repeated inquiries by The Washington Times, that he did not know he even had the memo or had passed it on until Mr. Harkin told him about it today. Mr. Martinez said he had meant to give Mr. Harkin a document describing Mr. Martinez's bill to prolong Mrs. Schiavo's life while federal courts reviewed her situation.

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20050406-124141-1831r.htm

If you buy this story, the next time someone is caught carrying some contraband, let’s just accept their story that they “didn’t know” what it was or how it came to be in their possession. What are the odds that only one copy of the memo was made and Martinez had it, albeit without his knowledge. What a bunch of schmucks.

Dilemma

I enjoy working on this site and try to be creative even though I have no formal training. So here's the dilemma. Like you, I have to pay my bills. I take time away from gainful self-employment to work on this site. I also have student loans which won't pay themselves. There have been quite a few visitors and very few contributions. I really don't even like having to ask, but I don't think it is asking too much for repeat or frequent visitors to provide some compensation for the time I spend doing this work. I realize all the other bloggers are hitting you up for money, as well, and times are a bit rough for those of us not benefitting from the rampant crony-capitalism and nepotism which permeates the Bush adminstration. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be appreciated.
